ADOS

First off, I have to say – Happy Birthday to ME!! Yes, it's my birthday. And I'm trying to enjoy it. Even if I do feel like crap. Guess my body isn't enjoying getting another year older. But what can I do? It's better than the alternative!

Now on to my blog…

In a conversation with my offspring and a dear friend, we got to talking about funny things and sayings, i.e. "You know you have ADHD – oh look, a chicken!" That prompted my son to tell us his friend told him she had ADOS. So of course, we had to ask.

ADOS = Attention Deficit Oooh Shiny

Insert laughter here.

Now, don't get me wrong. I feel for those who truly have ADHD, but don't we all suffer from it to some extent? Maybe that's why we can joke about it.

I never really thought much about ADHD, but now that I've opened the door to the voices in my head (in other words – wrote a book), I can see how a lot of writers can be labeled as such.

Sometimes that great idea will grab ahold of you and whatever you were saying or whoever you were listening to, go by the wayside. Your mind is on that idea and you must write it down!

So I can say I, too, have ADOS. And I jump at the chance to catch that shiny new idea.

And I still think ADOS is funny. Sorry!

Very cute! At work we always say something and then end with "Squirrel" or "Shiny". I'll have to tell my partner about "ADOS".
Happy Birthday, Stacy!

I'm a day late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you had a good day, and hope you're feeling better!

ADOS is hilarous--I love it! And I definitely suffer from it. :)

Thank you, Erin! I've heard of squirrel, but not butterfly. I guess you can insert anything that will capture your attention.

Thank you, Jessica! I'm feeling better than I was yesterday, so that's a plus!

Happy Birthday Stacy! Sorry this is so late, I've been gearing up for this TDY and now I'm in Spain for the next 2 weeks. My connection if kinda crappy on my iPad, and I can't scroll with it, so finding your site on the iPad is very hard. I have to drag my laptop down to the commons to get online, which is a lot harder now that I have an iPad. These are all my crappy excuses, to let you know I'm late, which you already know, but I wish you the best! I'll be checking back later to see if you got any bites on your novel!
P.S. I'm almost done with my first draft, only a few scenes left. Not having internet in my room is really helping me. =)

Hi Todd!
See - you give me every reason NOT to own an iPad! Ha ha! Not that I intend to ever get one (although, my husband has already put it on his wish list for Christmas).

Losing the internet sometimes is a blessing. It forces you to work. Glad to hear you're almost done. I look forward to reading it!

And thanks for the birthday wishes. It's never too late :)
