Super Moon Photos

Here's an easy blog to read on this fine Friday. Pictures of the moon. And not just any moon.

SUPER MOON!

This is what happens when I'm not familiar with the camera and the clouds aren't cooperating. It might have helped if I used a tripod, but hey, I'm lazy (I think I've said this before).

I pulled out the manual for the camera and figured out a way to manually expose the shot (like I did when I used to use a simple SLR with film). This was too dark, but now I was getting somewhere. Too bad the clouds were non-existent (dang!).

I thought this shot turned out pretty good.

I do not know why one shot caused a sepia-toned moon and this one more grey. Still, isn't the detail cool?

The next night the clouds appeared. Yay! Unfortunately, I had to figure out how to use the camera all over again! Argh!

Went for a wider view, but I got that stupid reflection too close to the subject.

I think this one might be a winner.

Or does this one look better?

Which one is your favorite? FYI - the photo will be cropped down to bookmark size.

That was one heck of a bright moon. We had a lot of cloud cover here, too, but when the moon broke free, it actually hurt my eyes to look at directly. You've got some really nice shots in there, Stacy, I'm not sure which I like best.

I'm partial to shot #3 with the yellow moon, but the bright white moon is nice too.

I like the last one best, with a little wisp of cloud over the moon. Nice photos!

Great pics. I like the shots 5, 6 and 9 the best. If I had to narrow it down further, I'd go with 6.
I have no idea how to do anything other than point and click on my camera and that is evident in my pictures. :(

Thanks for the comments. When I get the time (or I'm too tired to edit for the day), I'll play around with them and see which one works best as a bookmark. Oh, and maybe a new header (although I kind of like my header, even if it is blurry).

My little point and shoot camera would not work - the moon was just too dang bright and wouldn't focus at all. I'm glad my husband has a more complicated version that I could use, once I figured out how to use it, that is.

I think I like #7 with clouds, or #3 if you don't need clouds. All great shots though! Looking forward to seeing your finished bookmark. :)
