Ruby Falls - I Would Have Posted Pictures, But...

I don’t know about you, but I’ve driven up and down I-75 numerous times. As far north as Detroit and all the way down to Miami. And every time we approached Chattanooga, we’d see the signs for Ruby Falls, Rock City, and Lookout Mountain. Frankly, they’re hard to miss!

This trip we finally decided to stop and see Ruby Falls. I always thought it was called that because the water was red or something, when it was named for the wife of the man who discovered it.

So, what is Ruby Falls? Basically, it’s this huge waterfall inside a cave. And I didn’t know that, either! See, I learned so much from this trip. I had planned on posting lots of pictures, but Blogger is acting strange and I was only able to post one (bummer!!), and it's not very impressive.

Cheese!

I hope I can get the pictures posted later, because I certainly don't know what's going on! Have I reached my allotment? Do I have one? Curious minds...

I enjoyed my time in Alpharetta, although I got nearly no writing done. Proofreading took up most of the time (wish I had read it aloud the first time through, then I might not have to go through it a second time--live and learn!). I did get some writing done, though. I fiddled with a short story that took over my brain one evening (sometimes you can’t ignore the voices!). Don’t know if anything will ever come of it, or if I’ll ever finish it, but I had fun writing it.

On Saturday I got some GOOD news! My editor liked Bite Me! She offered suggestions on how I can reduce my word count. Yay!

What does this mean? Basically, it’s a “revise and resubmit” and I can live with that. Heck, it’s what I HOPED for! Now I have purpose behind my chopping!

So…You ever have troubles posting pictures on your blog?

Glad you had a good trip, and great news about 'Bite Me'. I haven't had problems with pictures, but Blogger does strange things for me, too. People disappear from my feed all the time (2 or 3 in particular).

Awesome news about Bite Me. Woohoo!

Most of my time on I-75 was short trips between Flint & Detroit, or trips between Flint to Mackinac. Did a few Flint to Toledo or Columbus, too. The only big trip I took on that highway was when I moved to FL. I do remember Lookout Mountain from a trip to Chattanooga once, but it was business, so we couldn't go. =o(

Sorry about the blog being a turd about your pics. Maybe it'll fix itself for tomorrow.

Very nice post, fun to catch up on what you've been doing.

I have had problems with blogger pictures but in the way of they want to flip my picture upside down. It's very odd.

But other than that, no problems. Hope you get yours worked out soon.

A friend told me there is a limit to the number of pictures you can post, but it's a pretty high number.

You can go into Picasa and see if there's any duplicates you can delete.

My guess is that Blogger is being fussy. Go into your post now and see if you can update with new pics.

I've been having trouble with Feedly so I'm late visiting blogs.

Jeff - So far the only issue I'm having with Blogger is pictures. Looks like it might have something to do with my pop-up blocker (since I was having problems with that earlier). Grrr...

B.E. - I haven't ventured further north than Detroit on I-75. One of these days, I'll have to explore so I can say I've been from one end to the other!

Ivy - Glad I can entertain you!!

Maria - When I can figure out HOW to get to Picasa, I might just delete some pictures. I'm sure I'm not using them all! Yep, I'm not very savvy when it comes to computer programs.

Wordpress sometimes pukes on large photos, instead of crunching them down to size like it's supposed to. Annoying!

My family visited Lookout Mountain and Rock City when I was four. Did you take the cable car up the mountain? That and a shaky rope footbridge are about all I remember!

Oh, and so glad to hear the editor liked Bite Me! Good luck with the revisions!

Jennette - No, we didn't take the incline. The sky was too hazy, so we didn't waste our money. We'll probably go back, though. Heck, I might end up there on my way down to Dragon*Con (if my daughter's friend wants to stop by, that is).

Sometimes pictures work, sometimes not.

Cool about your revisions. Sounds like the trip was just what you needed to dive right in.

Donna - Yeah, it is cool about the revisions, except now I gotta figure out which character to cut. Gulp!

Michael - Sometimes I think computers are out to get me. Haha!

For anyone who gets e-mail notifications of comments - I've got pictures posted today. Yay!
