Really?!?

BigRed is on its way back to me. In fact, I should receive it via FedEx today. I went on Dell’s site to see exactly what they did to it this time. Remember, BigRed has gone through THREE hard drives since December (when I purchased it).

According to their site, Dell replaced the hard drive.

REALLY? How is this hard drive going to fair any better than the others?

I've had people tell me the mother board should probably be replaced. Or that I just have a lemon. Because no laptop should be eating hard drives as many as mine has in such a short amount of time.

Now, it’s possible Dell did more and just didn’t post it on their site. But I doubt it.

I wonder how long the new hard drive will last? The previous one only lasted a few days. Dell hasn’t kept BigRed with them for more than two. How would they even know if it will last or not without putting it through the wringer?

Grrr…

I have a feeling I’ll continue to work from my flash drive for awhile.

In the meantime, I got an e-mail from Dell asking if I want to extend my warranty for $63. I don’t think I want to give them any more money for a laptop they should have replaced by now.

So… Got any plans for Easter? We’re going to our Columbus friend’s house. She’s smoking a ham. Sounds yummy! I’m sure she’ll have plenty of sweets, too. She always does!

Have a great weekend!

Stacy

The saga continues. I hope this is the fix that sticks!

Ugh. Sorry about your 'puter. I need to start looking for a new desktop, and Dell is flat out of the running now. Not just because of your experiences, but that's a part of it. Who needs that headache?

No plans here. I'll bake a ham. Maybe make pineapple upside down cake. Or a coffee cake. Something bakey. Then it's all editing, all the time. Ain't got time for no holidays. LOL

Beth - Thing is, my hubby loves Dell. And other people I know who have that computer love it, too. Heck, hubby's work uses that and has no problem. I guess I'm just lucky! :)

After three hard drives I think I would've insisted on a new laptop.

Most companies will acquiesce after this much hassle. If it happens again, please tell them to replace the entire machine or refund your money. This is way past inconvenience.

You're a lot more patient than I am.

Wow. Just Wow. Big fail on Dell's part if you continue to have problems (and yeah, I'm not optimistic either). I've always had good experience with Dell computers, so that's even worse. Good luck!

I'm having my parents and brother over for Easter. Always good to see everyone!

Maria - If anything else goes wrong, I'm definitely siccing my hubby on them.

Jennette - I certainly never expected to have this much trouble. Ugh.

Wow. So much work to get this laptop up and running. Would you buy a Dell again and how come they haven't just replaced the entire laptop? I don't get it?

Ivy - I don't get it, either. Would I get another Dell? Hmmm... I really don't know. Hubby likes them and he's never had a problem with his. One of the reasons I picked one!
