Wednesday Reads

Still not getting much writing done, but now I think it’s because I made a wrong turn along the way. Ah, but Blind Temptation is just about ready for my formatter (who happens to be my husband). Might actually make a March publishing date after all! Anyway, here’s what I read this week:

Bed of Roses by Gemma Brocato
Mar 19: “Bed of Roses” by Gemma Brocato, book 4 in the Five Senses series, a contemporary romance at 244 pages long. Blurb from Goodreads: With the right amount of nurturing, love will bloom. This close to Valentine’s Day Malin Eckert’s flower shop is entering their busiest season. As if the added work isn’t enough, her father’s drinking has spiraled out of control and Mal discovers she’s been named guardian of a fifteen-year-old sibling she never knew about. To make matters worse, Mal’s crushing on a customer, a serial dater who drops by the shop with alarming regularity to send flowers to other women. Gunnar Sims never had the best luck with women, a fact that doesn’t stop his growing attraction to his florist. His new business is losing money and he should be concentrating on that, but instead finds Mal an enticing distraction. In spite of her best intentions to keep Gunnar firmly in the friend zone, Mal finds herself falling for the classically handsome gym owner. As her affection for Gunnar and her sister, Gabriella, grows, Mal’s heart hangs in the balance when it appears both could be taken away from her. Gunnar is definitely one dream man! I think I fell in love with him a little, too. Okay, maybe I fell in love with the fantasy (I’m not giving up my sweetie!). Now, if this story had a hint of danger (like her previous ones did), it would have been perfect (I guess I’m basically a thrill junkie, huh?). I received this book free from the author for an honest review (even though she KNOWS how I review), but I also agreed because, frankly, I didn’t want to wait until her book came out on April 7th! Haha! Yeah, I’m a fan of this series and recommend this book (and all the others in this series) to anyone who loves reading romance.

So… What are you reading? Anything good? I hope so because I'd hate to think you were reading something bad!

Happy reading!

Stacy

I hope you're feeling better!

Just picked up 'salem's Lot--again. I'm kind of spinning on new reading material at the moment.

I'm reading about whole foods and herbs. Getting my garden ready ... in my head.

Jeff - Funny you mention 'Salem's Lot. My hero in Blind Temptation is reading that book! :)

Ivy - I can't get anything ready in my head. Gotta write it down or it'll be gone. It's like a sieve, I tell you! :)

I'm reading a trashy romance, because I think I'd like to write one.

Michael - I think you'd have to read more than one if you want to get that trash just right. ;)

I used to force myself to finish a book even if it was bad. Now I realize life is too short. If I lose interest, I never pick up the book again.

What am I reading? I just finished the first two Shadow Falls books and am currently reading The Three Fates of Ryan Love by Erin Quinn and Quiet: the Power of Introverts by Susan Cain.
I just read Ghostly Liaison, btw. Great book. Look forward to more.

Maria - That may be something I'll start doing with some of these 99 cent-ers I've been accumulating. The books LOOK interesting, but I haven't read any of them yet. Of course, I still make sure it looks like a book I want to read, so maybe they'll be okay. I haven't been burned too many times (thank goodness!).

Erin - I saw your review on Amazon! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I'm soooooo glad you liked it. :)
