Misc Pictures and a Decision About Blogging

I’ve been blogging fairly consistently on Mon, Wed, & Fri for awhile now. I like blogging, when I have something to blog about. When I don’t have something to blog about? Well, it’s frustrating. I wish my life were more interesting. Or I could REMEMBER interesting stuff that happened. But I don’t always write those things down, so they tend to get forgotten. Yeah, getting old is the pits.

So, I will definitely blog on Wednesdays, since I usually have a book or two to write about. As for Monday and Friday… I may or may not blog. I’m not going to force it any more. Forcing it is not fun and I want to have fun. I want this place to be fun.

I thought about maybe having a guest author post, something more than just a “here’s my book and blurb.” I have an author friend that has other authors answer the same silly questions each Sunday (she calls it Sundae with Nuts). Maybe something like that would work. Providing I could FIND people (authors) willing to do this, would you all even stick around for that? You can let me know in the comments.

I am NOT going away, though. I don’t have much of a social media presence and can’t afford to abandon what little I do have. Besides, I DO like to blog—when I have something worthwhile (or funny) to share. Heck, this blog gives me REASONS to take pictures now (so does Facebook), and I like sharing pictures.

And I do have some pictures to share today. Just some miscellaneous stuff.

The other morning was super foggy, but the full moon was shining (super moon, too). Would you believe it was clear about 10 minutes later? Glad I got these pics before then.

Then I saw something that looked like a leaf that had lodged on my screen only to discover it was a moth. Cool, huh? Well, cool that it was OUTSIDE. Glad it wasn't IN.

And the husband and I finally laid the new area rug in the family room. Yeah, he loves it. We’re tempted to get an OSU rug for the family room, not that we use that room all that much.

So… How was your weekend? Enjoy the football games? Steelers lost on Thursday, but the Rams WON yesterday. Yay!

It's definitely better not to force it, Stacy. I think the key thing is to be consistent, whatever you choose.

AS for the guest author idea, I would stick around to read it. It's always interesting to see what other people have to say.

The fog does great things to boring sights...love it

Yep...Your Rams beat...well I won't claim the Bucs as MY team...

Blog guests are hit or miss with me. It all depends how interesting they are.

Jeff - I just hope being absent doesn't become consistent! Hmmm... Did that make sense? :)

Mac - I do love fog. Something eerie and mystical about it, huh?

Maria - Yeah, that's my concern. I gotta keep it fun. I'm sure it'll take me awhile to think of something, too! :)

Those photos are awesome! Don't blame you if you'd rather blog less - that's why I cut down to once a week. Have fun with it!

Jennette - Doubt I can just do one a week, but at least I don't feel the pressure anymore. Amazing what making a decision can do for a person. I should do them more often, huh? Haha! :)

I'm sorry you're having a rough go. Honestly, I don't care two picks and a turnip about guest bloggers, because I enjoy reading about you, and that's why I visit.

But that doesn't matter. You gotta do this blog your way.

I just read your last comment here when you said you don't feel pressure anymore. Do you enjoy blogging? Why did you feel pressure before? Is there an added pressure because of the push to sell books?

Either way, I'm glad you don't feel that pressure anymore, and I hope you can find the blogger groove that works best for you.

Happy Halloween & Boogie Boogie :-)

Ivy - I like blogging when I have something to blog about. I was putting pressure on myself to blog every M-W-F. Now, I'll blog if I have something to say on those days. And yes, there is additional pressure of promoting myself, mainly because I hate it. But it comes with the job, doesn't it?

I'd like to think my guest bloggers will be similar to you posting little pictures and sayings. Something fun. Nothing's happening yet, though. I still have to figure out exactly what I want! :)

I can appreciate. When I first started blogging, I had more to say. Now, I'm busy with...well, writing. Luckily, since I enter the flash fiction contests, I always have those to post.

Michael - When I started blogging, I had an outside job and stuff to blog about (or complain about!). Now I'm home all day. Not much to say about that! Maybe if I could write flash fiction, I'd have something to blog about, but man, writing that is HARD! I envy that you can do it.

I love to post funny comics and I enjoy reading comics. Same with food photos. But guest posts, aren't my interest. But I understand what you mean about using them as a filler.

Also for me, awhile back I gave myself a challenge to post for 44 days in a row. I'm glad I pushed myself. Because now, I'm on a groove and blogging is like brushing my teeth.

I feel anyway, that's it's good to push ourselves as writers. But that said, mine is a social blog. I'm not worried or pressured with marketing myself. I'm just there for the fun.

Anyway, whatever you decide, I wish you the best and the most fun ahead. I've enjoyed reading your blogs and find your life interesting. You could come on and say what you had for breakfast and I'd read it, because it's about you.

Cheers & Happy Oogie Boogie Season:-)

Ivy - You bring up my main concern regarding guest posters: MY audience probably won't care. I know I'm not always fond of blogs that ONLY have guest posters, and I certainly wouldn't go to that extreme, if I go the guest-route at all (and it's looking like I probably won't). I started this blog to just post stuff as it happens, like a diary, but not as personal (if you know what I mean). As long as you all understand I can't do it to a schedule any longer, then I'm okay with it just being me. I don't need the filler. I just don't want to lose what little audience I have.

So... I will be posting on Wednesdays for sure (because I love sharing what I've read) and Mondays and Fridays will be hit or miss.

Ivy, I'm glad YOU would find what I ate to be interesting, but I can't imagine everyone else would feel the same. Still, it's nice to know I have a fan, and I certainly don't want to disappoint you! Thank you for helping me along. :)

You never ever ever disappoint me, I've loved reading about your publishing adventures. Great fun.

I enjoyed when you took those pictures outside of your office, way back when.

Yeppers, I'm a fan. Even bought your book and you know I don't read that genre. But you do, so I'm in.

Now ... we have to get it off our account and onto the tablet. Something went a bit wonky and we can't transfer our purchases.

Anyway, keep being you! You rock!
