I always thought I'd treat this blog as my diary, but I realized I can't do that. I can't rant about things that can come back and bite me in the butt. Oh sure, I can rant about my writing, except I love to write and there isn't much to rant about. But rant about the query process? No way. Rant about the paying job? Uhhh, nope.
But I can rant about the traffic, which is the pits at the I-75 and US-35 interchange. Lanes moved/shifted, which is always a problem. And bringing four lanes down to two doesn't help matters, either. If I could find a way around the problem, that didn't add more time than waiting through all that crap, I would (but then, so would everyone else, right?). My 30-minute drive into work turned into an hour today. I hope that's not a sign of things to come.
Some good news – and a reason I stay at the paying job: We bought a new refrigerator and it was delivered yesterday. I have to say, it's a LOT bigger than my older one. And I got it in black (thinking it would look smaller??). We'll have to get used to it for sure. Just not used to seeing this big black behemoth in my kitchen. But one thing that is awesome about this new appliance – the reflection on the shiny front makes me look super skinny! I will enjoy that until I cover it up with my magnets. Or fingerprints.
Aside from a job I wish I didn't need – and the trip I have to take to get there – everything is peachy-keen! (Do you hear sarcasm in that remark? You should).
At least the weather has decided to be good for a change. And I will be watching "Captain America" tonight with my son & husband. How is it in your neck of the woods?

Ranting - Or Not

I had to take my daughter to. Wright St. last night and was dreading the traffic on Col. Glenn until a coworker told me how to go in the back way. No lights, no traffic! I was thrilled LOL! And I got a bunch of stuff done the past few days and can hopefully get back to my writing tonight. :)
I never go to Wright State on Col. Glenn. But then, I'm coming from Huber. 4 to 444 to Kaufmann to Wright State. 3 lights at the most!
Good luck with getting back to writing. I hate it when I've been forced away for a few days. Now, if I didn't have the paying job, I'm pretty sure I'd write every day. I'd consider it a job and make a routine out of it. It's a dream I hope to fulfill in the near future!!
Thanks for commenting, Jennette!
Traffic. Sister, I hear ya. This is one of the reasons I retired early from my job. I had a 1-hour commute on a good day. But this time of year, it easily turns into two or more hours.
I was in such a bad mood by the time I reached my destination no one wanted to be around me.
Ref: Captain America
That will definitely put a smile on your face. :) I liked it.
Hi Maria!
I'll have to let you know about Captain America. Of course, with Chris Evans in the role, I expect to enjoy it bunches.
No traffic here. BUT when I did live in the city, I would go ALL THE WAY to the burbs just to get off the highway. Hate traffic.
Hi Anne.
Normally, the traffic isn't THAT big of an issue, but with all this construction, it's been horrible. I do know that the more north I go, the less the traffic is. Unfortunately, that's where most of the cold is, too. I guess I'll take traffic over a longer winter!
No traffic for me. Wheeeee. One of the joys of being old and retired.
So why am I the only one who hasn't seen Captain America?
