Is this what having a new phone does to a person? I don’t
even use it that much. I’m jinxed, I tell you. JINXED! J
Anyway, I did read this past week (and actually finished one
of them!). Here’s what I read during the week:
Jul 25: “Prince of Shadows” by Tes Hilaire, the third book
in the Paladin Warriors series, a paranormal romance. Blurb on book: It’s forbidden for
a warrior of the light to love a creature of the dark… Valin has never quite
fit in with the rest of the Paladin warriors. His power to manipulate shadow
has always put him at odds with their purpose of using heavenly Light to
eradicate evil. His warrior brothers have no idea how close he is to being lost
to his dark nature. But maybe he was never all that light to begin with. When
Valin meets the vampire Gabriella, she awakens within him something he thought
long buried. But as he watches Gabriella’s need for vengeance threaten to drag
her down into the same dark hell that he’s living, he knows his only chance at
redemption is bringing her out of the dark… Besides with being just
a TINY bit confused with the reference to Logan's grieving (I had to re-read
the ending of the last book to make sure I hadn't MISSED something), I realized
that these characters aren't aware of what happened at the end of the previous
book. Other than that little confusion, I found a book I had trouble putting
down. I liked Valin and Gabby's story very much and look forward to more in this
series (maybe Bennett's and Annie's story??). I gave it 5 stars on Goodreads.
I was part of a cover reveal event on Facebook last night
and gave away a copy of my Home for the Holidays anthology. Just spending those
couple of hours commenting and sharing my covers garnered some sales. Not a
lot, but hey, I’ll take every bit I can get. Sure, I probably spent more than I
gained, but the money goes to my chapter, so it’s not all bad.
So… Did you know today is Cheesecake Day? I learned this on
Facebook this morning. What’s your favorite cheesecake? Mine is probably the
caramel cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory. That or the white
chocolate/raspberry. Or the Kahlua coffee. Heck, who can choose???
Happy reading!

Cheesecake, I love the stuff. Raspberry rocks. Lemon too. Really I like a lot of them. So flippin' yummy.
Neat about being part of a cover reveal. Cool beaners.
PS: Have to put your book on hold for now, since our Nook may be on the way to the bin. In the market for either a new charger or a entirely new tablet. Something we can read and print coupons from.
Have a great time in Jersey. It's one stinky smelly state but still lots of fun.
Cheers and boogie boogie.
Ivy - I call NJ the "rip-off state" because they charge for EVERYTHING. So glad I don't live there anymore (we did from 82-87). Of course, I say the same thing about Alabama (for different reasons). :)
I have a cheesecake recipe that's fantastic. The cake always comes out real heavy, too, which I don't think you want in a cheesecake (typically), but it works for this one!
Jeff - I don't mind those "heavy" cheesecakes. I'm an equal opportunity cheesecake eater! :)
