That’s right. The Wayne Warriors beat Colerain Saturday
night in the Division I Region 2 Final. They will meet the Division I Region 1
champion (Lake St. Edward) on Saturday, December 5th to determine the Division
I State Champion.
But let me tell you about Saturday’s game. It wasn’t
cold-cold. Probably in the 40s. But it was raining. All. Game. Long. The front
of my coat was soaked (I wore a plastic blanket around my shoulders, which kept
the rest of my coat relatively dry—thank goodness). While my boots kept my
feet dry and my rain pants kept my pants dry, my gloves were soaked before the
game even started, so I ended up taking them off and using my pockets, which
were wet, but at least warmer than the gloves. Still, my hands pretty much
turned into prunes. But you know what? I’d do it all over again to see them
win.
But man, I sure hope the next game is warmer and drier, or
at least just DRIER. We play at 3pm and so far the forecast calls for sunny and
temps in the 50s. I can only hope it’s accurate. **fingers crossed**
“Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” was a very good movie. I
think the whole movie series covered the books pretty well. Of course, it’s been awhile since I
read them, and I did only read them once, so maybe I’m not remembering
correctly. I do remember not having the same response to the ending that most
people did. I thought it ended okay—it was an ending. Was it happy? I guess it
just depends on how you go about looking at it.
So… did you do any Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping? I
did some Black Friday shopping on line. I’m hoping to finish up the big
shopping today. Hopefully the prices didn’t go up. If they do, then I know not
to wait until Monday next year!
Happy Monday (and happy shopping, if applicable)!

Congrats to Wayne! Too bad you had to sit through the game under miserable conditions. I once went to a concert where it deluged for about 15 minutes a little ways in and everyone got drenched. Difference is it was about 85 degrees out, so the rain was quite welcome.
Haven't seen any of the movies, and I don't really remember the way the series ended in the books. I did not like the sequels nearly as much as the first book, however. Does every book need a happy ending? Is a happy ending always the right ending? Have a great week, and good luck to Wayne.
It's been in the 40s here (with rain) and we've been cocooning. Too cold for our wimpy butts. LOL.
I have to do shopping for friends and neighbors, but I think this year I will just make goody baskets for everyone.
Yay for your team! Ugh, I remember the days of sitting in the stands for a football game. Wet, cold, yuck. But I was in the band and football games were mandatory for our grade.
Not much shopping to do really. Gift baskets for the moms. Something cute for the Kid. Then I'm done. Haven't started yet beyond looking online at gift baskets.
Jeff - Whether a happy ending is always the right ending matters to me. I don't want to watch a movie to be depressed. I get that enough from real life.
Maria - Mmmm. Goody baskets sound like fun.
Beth - I was in the band, too, but attended high school in Santa Barbara (Goleta), so the weather wasn't too bad. I'm sure I thought it was bad at the time, though! Haha!
I did not leave my house all weekend, and it was wonderful. I did some shopping online too - I try to do as much of that as possible, because I hate crowds. I bet the good online deals will still be there tonight - it is cyber Monday after all!
Jennette - Well... One item I had planned on buying went up $8.00, so I'm not buying it now. I guess Black Friday is better than Cyber Monday, so next year I'll have to keep that in mind.
A wee bit of sale shopping but just for stuff we needed.
Happy December and boogie boogie.
Ivy - Yeah, I picked up stuff we wanted during the sales, too. Like the Fitbit! :)
