Don't you just love my masterpiece? I drew it using Paint. Pretty awesome, right? Go on, you can be honest. I can take it. Really! |
Oh, don’t look at me that way, Steph. You know it’s true!
Tonight is the full moon. I love the moon, especially when it’s full. Don’t know why, it just fascinates me. Maybe there’s some truth to being born under the sign of Cancer. I’m a moonchild. J
Picture of the Super Moon taken June 2013. I'd have taken one of tonight's moon, but it's not, like, you know, tonight yet! |

So today is both our favorite day. I hope it brings good luck.
You know, like the LA Kings kicking the NY Rangers’ butt
tonight and taking the cup! Yeah, I know I said I wouldn’t watch the Stanley
Cup Finals. So I lied! So sue me.
Well, don’t go that far. Please! I don’t have any money
anyway.
That also makes today a rare day, or so I’m told. No, not
because my daughter and I happen to like the same day (okay, yeah, that could
be rare, too), but because the next time a full moon falls on Friday the
thirteenth it will be 2049. I’ll turn 92 that year. I sure hope I’m around to
see it.
Oh, what am I saying? I’ll be around until I’m at least 100.
I’ve been saying that since I was a kid, so why stop now?
So…you got any plans on this rare
and spooky night? Or are you just planning on staying inside and away from all
the crazies? I think I’ll be staying inside. Well, except to maybe go outside a
few times and check on that moon. J

Sadly, the weather looks like it's going to be poor for viewing the full moon in my neck of the woods, so I guess I'll stay in. Have a great weekend!
Jeff - It's supposed to clear up sometime after noon today. So hopefully I'll see it on the drive back from dinner.
I'm also hearing it's supposed to be a 'strawberry moon' - whatever that means. I'll be staying in. Even on a clear night here (which isn't tonight), it's hard to see the moon because of all the trees.
Very fun on the homemade sign. It's fun to see you goofing about.
I used Paint for mine but normally, all the other stuff I've done, I use a program called Xara. It's a great program for my pictures and I get to draw stuff.
But yesterday I went with Paint and made a few different question marks.
Very cool on the 13th and the moon. I don't know how old I'll be, as I have no interest in counting that high. I just snorted.
Have a great weekend. No special plans for me, but Frankenberry has a gaming thing to do to tomorrow and today, he might get home early from work. We might hit Barnes.
Cheers and boogie boogie.
Last night my husband was wondering what that extra big, bright, full moon was called - now I know, thanks to you! My brother was born on Fri the 13th - I still love to remind him LOL.
B.E. - I found this (http://guardianlv.com/2014/06/honey-moon-or-strawberry-moon-visible-friday-the-13th-video/) regarding the Strawberry moon and discovered all sorts of interesting stuff. This is also the honey moon. But why it's only visible in the eastern states (and at midnight--think I can stay up that late?) is beyond me!
Ivy - Just add 35 years to your current age. Now you know (yes, I'm evil that way). Glad you liked my drawing!! :)
Jennette - If you're referring to the Super Moon, that was last year, not this year. Too many different types of moons to keep track of, don't you think?
Hey Stacy,
I can't wait to see the moon tonight. Happy Friday the 13th.
I do like your picture.
I don't want the Kings to win. You can understand why :)
Bonnie - I do understand. But I really think the Kings are going to take it.
BUZZZZZ ... but thanks for playing. We have some lovely door prizes for you today. All bakes.
