My Eyes Hurt

I swear, these new glasses of mine will be the death of my eyes.

It’s either that, or maybe I’m just tired from staying up until 2am (Thursday morning) watching the women’s US Hockey team beat Canada! What a nerve-wracking… ahem… exciting game that was! I really didn’t think I’d stay awake for the whole thing, but that game sure kept my attention.

So while my lack of sleep could be the cause of my poor eyes, I really think it’s also the glasses.

You see… I went from trifocals to progressive lenses and either there’s something wrong with the glasses or there’s something wrong with my eyes.

I’m thinking some of the blame is on the glasses. I went yesterday to get them adjusted, but the only person at the shop was the one person who couldn’t fix them (because she had carpel tunnel surgery and couldn’t grip things). I’ll be back today, though and hope for the best.

I really hope it’s my glasses. Because I can’t imagine working on the computer, or even reading, for any length of time with these things the way they are now. I’m going bonkers trying to keep the stupid screen in focus!

So… Have you ever stayed up late to watch a game? Did you regret it the next day? I might have if USA hadn’t won, but they did, so it was well worth being tired yesterday!

But I still don’t like my glasses. Yet.

Happy Friday!

Stacy

Bruins just had their west coast road trip start in Vancouver at 10pm on Saturday night. I regretted staying up for that because they got pasted! I watched the first period of the women's game but just could not make it for the rest (I was really tired). I'm glad they won, hate that it was decided in a shootout, but those are the rules we play with these days.

I'm getting my eyes checked next week. It's amazing how bad vision/glasses can have a huge impact on the rest of your life--headaches (kind of obvious), fatigue. I'm looking forward to it. Good luck, hopefully a little adjustment is all you need!

I have progressive contacts and they have taken a long time to get used to.
So awesome the women's team won the gold!

Greg has the progressive lenses. He griped about them a lot until he finally got used to them. He still hates them though. I guess you never really get that used to them.

re: hockey
I caught the highlights. Well done, USA!

Alex - I can't imagine how progressive contacts even work. I've tried contacts (back in the 80s), but my stigmatism was too bad for them to work (and I wasn't about to wear hard lenses). I'm sure it's all different now, but they tend to be more expensive and I'm all about the cheap! Haha!

Maria - Hubby loves his progressive lenses and didn't have any issues with them. I'm thinking I made a HUGE mistake. At least I have 30 days and can change if I want. I may want.

Trifocals didn’t work for me. I have three sets of glasses;

1. Computer bifocals because distance for reading a book isn’t same as reading a computer screen
2. Bifocals for reading and normal distance.
3. Sane ad 2, except sunglasses

Hope your eyes feel better. No, never for sports but I have stayed up late lots of times.

Silver - I'm surprised you just didn't get the transitions for your #2 set. Much better than having a separate set of sunglasses.

Ivy - My eyes will feel better when I turn in these nasty lenses for the trifocals I should have gotten.
