Reading Update and Cruising Along…

Yesterday was a sea day on our way to Aruba. We had to stop for a distress signal. Some probably refugees were on a boat (lots of people on a small boat) and needed help (I assume). We eventually took them on board (after a long wait for instructions from HQ, I’m sure). Eventually another ship intercepted us and took them away. I thought maybe this might delay our arrival to Aruba, but they claim it won’t. Yay!

Here’s what I read since my last update:

Book 15

Dates read: April 10-11, 2023
Title: Some Were in Time
Year of publication: 2015
Author: Robyn Peterman
Genre: Paranormal comedy
Series: Shift Happens #2
# of Pages: 204
Paper or plastic: Nook book
How obtained: Purchased
Blurb from Goodreads: Planning my own wedding should mean I’m having the time of my life…not defending it every time I turn around. Dragons, feral Wolves and Were Cows…I mean who in the hell knew Were Cows even existed?
All I wanna do is marry Hank, have 2.5 beautiful little Werewolf babies and live happily ever after while having sex on a very regular basis. Oh…and I still want to shoot stuff occasionally.
Apparently no one got the memo.
Instead of complaining about the price of flowers, cakes and the fact that my gay Vampyre BFF, Dwayne insists on wearing a dress at my nuptials, I’m locked and loaded trying to ascertain who wants my ass six feet under. With Hank at my side and some surprising allies at our disposal, we will take on the bad dudes…one bloody clusterhump of a sucktastic battle at a time.
No one ever said the Werewolf life was going to be easy, but this week we couldn’t catch a break if it bit us in the ass…

My thoughts: Slapstick comedy. That’s pretty much what this is. I read the first book in this series awhile back and bought the rest for the cruise for some mindless reading. If you love comedies, this one will fit the bill, but you’ll probably want to read book one first.

Today Hubby and I only have one excursion on Aruba: a sunset sailing. It has an open bar. Should be fun. We’ve been here several times (recently, even), so we’ll probably just walk around once we dock (which won’t be for another hour or so). We’ll miss dinner on the ship, so we might try a restaurant in town. Or just eat a late lunch. We haven’t decided yet. We’re spur-of-the-moment type of cruisers, I guess.

Happy Reading!

Stacy
